How Good Samaritan Ministries Is Changing Lives Through Free Urdu Bibles

At Good Samaritan Ministries Pakistan, we believe that a single Bible can change the course of a person’s life. Over the years, we have witnessed this truth played out in the stories of countless individuals who received a free Urdu Bible and experienced a transformation that only the Word of God can bring. From broken families restored to addicts set free, from hopeless youth finding purpose to elderly believers finally holding Scripture in their own hands — the testimonies continue to pour in.

One of the most powerful stories comes from a young man named Asher in Lahore. Raised in poverty, he had given up on life and was on the verge of making destructive choices when a volunteer from Good Samaritan Ministries handed him a free Urdu Bible during a street distribution event. “I opened it that night,” Asher told us. “I started reading the Gospel of John and could not stop. By morning, I was on my knees, asking Jesus to save me.” Today, Asher is studying to become a pastor and is one of our most dedicated volunteers.

Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, the founding president of Good Samaritan Ministries, has led Bible distribution campaigns in some of the most remote and underserved regions of Pakistan. His teams travel to villages that have no church buildings, where believers gather under trees or in small rooms. In these places, the arrival of free Urdu Bibles is met with tears of joy and singing. Pastors who had been preaching from memory alone can finally study the Scriptures and teach their congregations with confidence and accuracy.

Our work goes beyond simply handing out Bibles. We follow up with recipients, connect them with local churches, and provide discipleship resources to help them grow in their faith. We also support pastors with training materials and additional copies of the Bible for their congregations. Every free Urdu Bible we distribute is part of a larger vision: to see Pakistan’s Christian community rooted and grounded in the Word of God. If you would like to be part of this life-changing work, we invite you to partner with us through prayer and generous giving.
